Great pic. Columbus Centre is looking great, and to my suprise Random House looks really cool from that angle.

This is going to seem like a silly question, but in the movie 101 Dalmations, the dogs stop at a dairy farm. *Is it supposed to be represented by the one pictured above? *It sure does look like it!

Anyway....great pictures DDNY! *Thanks for sharing them with us! *:)

Gorgeous photos of a lovely time of year.

"Anyone familiar with this building"

I've replied to this elsewhere but for anyone interested on this forum, I think it's the Oliver Cromwell apartment building on W72nd Street, 1927, Emery Roth

On the 4th photo from the bottom, the tall building with the green roof is the Carlyle on E76 st. *It is definitely one of my favorite buildings on the Upper East Side, mostly because of the way they light up the roof at night.

OK...how come the Bethesda never has water in it? *I absolutely love that fountain...not sure why in particular. *But I hardly ever see pics of it with water!!! *Why?!?

This summer, the water was turned off in all city fountains because of the drought. *I believe that in winter, some fountains are shut down to avoid bursting the pipes if the water freezes. *Hopefully, with normal weather, next summer will see plenty of fountains.

Oups.
You even gave the date and the architect.

Thanks.

It's quite similar to Roth's Ritz Tower, Park & E57th, 1925-27.

Similar but much better.
I never liked the Ritz Tower. Weird building. A stretched version of a classical apartment building.
