Well, of course I must mention my site:
http://www.rovingrube.com/Rupod.htm
On behalf of which I solicit NYC photos and notes from any and all users of this site.
Here are some others:
Carter B. Horsley's long-running treasure trove of his writings about NYC Skyscrapers, which tends to come up as often as wirednewyork.com in Google searches for info about a particular building:
http://www.thecityreview.com/home.html
Another long-running and continuallly getting bigger and better site:

Norman McGrath took the excellent and wonderful full-page photos for Eric P. Nash's book "Manhattan Skyscrapers", which was published in 1999.
He is the son of Australian-born architect, Raymond McGrath, who designed the devine St Ann's Court, a white Meier-ish house in Chertsey, Surrey in the UK (1936-37) (if anyone's interested in 1930's residential architecture in the UK, check out "The Modern House Today" by Nick Dawe/Kenneth Powell, which contains photos of St Ann's Court).
He has a website containing quite a few photos of NYC, amongst other places:

The Kitty Genovese link on the website seems to dispel the legend surrounding this very high-profile and (popularly perceived) shameful incident.
Perhaps I should have put this here. Pictorially, the website is a very good representation of this not-oft-seen neighbourhood, even if you don't agree with the opinions expressed about the Kitty Genovese case. I'd be interested in what other forumers think about the views expressed on this website and/or your own opinions.

If any of you are into NYC Transit surface transportation, we've a photo gallery archive, database of documents, overall fleet roster (by type), general knowledge quiz, glossary of terms and of course, a discussion forum. The forum is the most popular of the available sections featuring discussions between employees, passengers, the media and curious visitors.

Post em if you got em! I will update the first post as the thread gets bigger.
http://www.razorapple.com/ - a website about New York City and what’s happening on the street, both literally and figuratively. Razor Apple is published regularly with content of varying depth, length and quality.
http://newyorkhack.blogspot.com/ - Pictures from an NYC cab driver.
http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/ - No description, but I'll sum it up... it's a site where people submit funny/odd conversations that they eavesdrop on. I laugh at this site every day. Gives you that "Only in NY" feeling.
http://www.forgotten-ny.com/ - Website that tells you about the far corners of NYC and all of it's history. Updated twice weekly with a different area/neighborhood. Still waiting for her to get to the Brooklyn nabe I was raised in :)

www.HabitatMap.org (http://www.HabitatMap.org), a Brooklyn-based non-profit dedicated to building sustainable cities through citizen action has recently released an online community mapping and social networking platform (http://www.habitatmap.org/markers) that some of you may be interested in.
To get an idea of how it works, check out the thematic maps (http://habitatmap.org/markers?maps=72,73,77,78,79,80) we put together in collaboration with the Newtown Creek Alliance (http://habitatmap.org/profiles/56).
HabitatMap is a wiki so any registered participant (http://habitatmap.org/sessions/register) can establish a marker, edit an existing marker, or make a map.

Edit: I've now had a chance to explore this more thoroughly and I'd just like to say where would we be without Camilo Jose Vergara and his photos, which provide such a fascinating and indelible then and now urban journey. I'm amazed and heartened by his generosity in freely sharing some of his work on the internet with all who are interested.
