Sky-high smut

Raunchy ad rises in Times Sq.

A billboard that went up in Times Square yesterday - featuring barely dressed adult film star Jenna Jameson - has some visitors wondering whether the Disneyfied district has become "porn again."

The three-story-tall sign, which sits over a topless club, shows the busty blond clad in microscopic scanties and poses the question: "Who Says They Cleaned up Times Square?"

"I'm sad to see it," said Debby Morrison, 54, of Boston. "I'm not offended, but I wouldn't have expected it here."

But other tourists doubted that the billboard, which touts Jameson's Web site, was a sign family-friendly Times Square was reclaiming its title as the smut capital of New York.

"I'm from Michigan, and I didn't even notice her," said Mike Russell, 42, of Flint.

Under cover

Bina Chauhan, 25, of Brooklyn, also shrugged off the ad, noting that Jameson's fingers are strategically placed.

"She's got enough covered," Chauhan said.

At least one tourist saw the billboard, on the east side of Seventh Ave. between 48th and 49th Sts., as a positive thing.

"I'm a fan of hers," said James Plotts, 26, of San Diego, pushing his toddler in a stroller down Broadway. "It might bother some people, but I don't know why."

Some tourists said the racy billboard is no more explicit than a half-dozen raunchy ads that dot the Crossroads of the World particularly, an even bigger poster of a nearly naked Tommy Lee.

"I don't find it tasteful," said Katrina Dela Cruz, 19, of Santa Barbara, Calif. "But sex does sell."

I saw the ad on my way to work today. *I doubt that it would stay there for long if the zoning ordinances prohibiting such signs are enforced soon.

It doesn't sell sex but porn, a product like any other.

I saw this the other day. I wouldn't have given it a second thought if it wasn't mentioned here. Trashy and forgettable, but not sexy.

On the other hand, this gets your attention.

A French model. She has green eyes (is it why she was chosen?)

I can't always describe what floats my boat.

Green eyes is a nice bonus.

I meant chosen by the advertisers, but I was kidding. For your information, she doesn't blow. She's said so on television.

Television is mostly fiction.
