"The project presented several challenges from a rigid zoning envelope to a tight site. Portions of the building above the seventh floor cantilever over a neighboring building to make up lot coverage for all the air rights parcels.
From the beginning of the project the developers focused on often ignored sectors in the luxury high-rise residential market - professional singles and couples as well as emerging families. Chartwell House is located on the east side of Second Avenue between 91st and 92nd Streets and targets this upscale but underserved sector of the market. Named after the country house of Winston Churchill, Chartwell House aims to exemplify elegance and sophistication.
The apartments will feature premium hard wood strip floors, kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and full marble master bathrooms.
