Like during the 9/11 aftermath, I was once again sent to work in Jersey City during the blackout as our building there has back up generators and by Friday morning the PATH was running so I could take the train out. Here are the pics.

I measured the pixels based on the Amex Tower so it should be about that height.

HP 5 is deathly boring. So is Exchange Place. But the architecture seems to be getting a little better.

I want to go to JC to take a few pics of the new developments. And I just notices that aside from being similar to the 2IFC of Hong Kong, it's also in a similar setting (near the water). And, yeah the TWC has been a dissapointment:(

They (Goldman Sachs and 2IFC) are both designed by Pelli, aren't they? *I think the building is gorgeous. *They are other developments coming soon. *Journal Square may be getting some new buildings too. *"Journal Square III", its called. *Does anybody know if Goldman Sachs will be lit up at night? *The crown, I mean. *By the way, what is the TWC, and why is it a dissappiontment?

What's everybodies opinion on the halo top of the goldman sachs, now that it has been installed?
I kind of like it, altough it is a little too dark. *I hope they light this sucker up at night. *Another interesting thought...how come on Pelli's website, there is NO mention of the GS? *Everything else, but not this. *Are they embarrassed??

I think it will be lighted up at night. It's NJ's shining gem and what better what to show it off by lighting it up at night.

I was in far west Chelsea over the weekend and GS really seems like it is in the city itself from there. Its very visible from 10th and 11th Aves.

The cladding is, like, 99.9% done. *It looks awesome from HRP, essentially the pinnacle of a steady north-to-south increase in building height. *Jersey City will soon claim its rightful spot as one of the greatest skylines in America.

It's perfectly linear though. A front.

Christian, your right in that there is not a lot of depth to the skyline. *There are a number of smaller projects breaking ground that should help out with some background filler. *If/when they break ground on the other 3 harborside buildings, that will truely create a striking skyline (2 of those buildings are proposed for 800 feet)

I thought I posted this already, if anyone comes accross my misplaced post please nofity me. Anyway, where's the bamboo atrium and is it open to the public? Also, if you get the chance to come near the pier north of the Hyatt, walk along the walkway. Even though the apartments are underconstruction, a guy in a suit who was leaving it who I think took park in some aspect of the construction told me he thought the walkway was open. *shrug* I'll post the pictures I took if I can find the CD.
