Of couse, we're all important: we're loved by God, and each of us has his place in the sun. But sometimes I feel like we're all just choirboys preaching to each other.
Does anyone have any concrete or anecdotal evidence that a person or persons with decision-making power has read something in this or any other forum, and been influenced by it in his or her actions?
If not, I suppose it's still fun just being a fan.

If they have, then it's most likely that they've kept their presence discreet.

I emailed Libeskind an invitation to check out our forum. *He personally responded, just as he is rumored to do:
Dear D[---------------],
Thanks for your informative E-mail.
Since we shall be moving our office to New York I shall definitely inform my colleagues to "log on" as will I.
Best,
Daniel Libeskind

I don't get it: does he think you have to move to New York to log on?

If the man is as weird as his glasses, maybe he's not fully aware of the capabilities of the internet.

He's supposedly been living in a hotel. Maybe he doesn't have internet access from there or maybe he's so spoiled he won't go on-line without a T1 from the office. ;)

He probably meant that this is an essential guide to the city for residents.

All right, I'll 'fess up. *I am an important person with decision-making power. *Bow to me.
Seriously, though. *Insofar as this forum is a useful source of information, important people will come. *Perhaps Bloomberg himself won't, but an aide of his, researching the public response to the Bloomberg building is bound to find this forum, and might report back to the man himself.

The Internet is a very important place nowadays...important people will come...or maybe they've already taken a look.

We have to keep in mind that whatever we post here will be visible to the public. So let's hope that NIMBY's, mega-memorialists, and the LMDC aren't snooping around this forum to judge our words and use them to fuel their hatred of tall buildings or signature buildings.

I hope these folks are enlightened of the fact that there are intelligent and well informed people engaging in a dialog about the very issues they control... *and we're not crackpots or narrow agenda pushers, (for the most part). ;)
