- We New Yorkers don't call it the Big Apple.
- What do you call it?
- We call it "the city."
- How do you know which city you're talking about?
- *Is* there another?

I'm an expatriate from NCY, languishing in southern California (for professional reasons) and this forum is the best thing I've stumbled across in a long time. I miss the city and your posted pictures are just terrific. I love seeing new building pictures (even concept art) and the oldies but goodies. Keep them coming!

Hi Kommisar.

Southern California is paradise, New York set aside and I love the weather. Keep us up to date on that great span from LA to Sand Diego.

Development in California? Within our lifetime, LA and San Diego will be one. The gap beween them gets smaller and smaller every year. The coast south of LA is 100-mile continuum of planned neighborhoods, retirement condos and home owners associations kept healthy and circulated by extra-wide roads. I'm in a womb of paradise, Orange County, where the trees are skinny and planted in straight rows along the highway. It's a very young culture, too new to know itself yet. For the nonce, it will feed off of pop culture and fast food until becomes it's own place.

Until then, I'll content myself with pictures and recounts of the old city. That and a handful of visits every year will keep me happy. ;)

Question: Can anyone recommend a website that follows the progress of developing buildings in NY? One with photos is preferable. I can't wait to see the AOL Towers in Columbus Circle.

#Moderation Mode

This is by far the best site to follow development in NY.

One has to move to SoCal to develop games? Absurd.

I know it is considered heresy to mention this site on the board, but Skyscrapers.com is a good source too. I contribute a lot of photography there. Here is an example of AOL Time Warner under construction (my photo):

And by the way, welcome to the forum!
