Both an Interesting and thought provoking poll Edward!

I went with 7 WTC because of my undevotional love to The Lower Manhattan Area...What can I say..The Revitalization has begun!

I voted Hearst. Although 7WTC may come second because of its symbolism, and Bloomberg third for aesthetics.

Hearst, for the anticipation of how it will look at that great spot.
Perry West a close second.

I'm very confused-Is Perry West Completed Now?

I got some websites saying it was finished in 2001 and 2002, and this telling me It's Under Construction...

Forgive Me, I don't travel to the Village that Often.

I voted for the Hearst. I really like the building or atleast the renderings. Second would be 7 WTC.

Perry West and the Hearst are the only with serious architecture. Meier is a bore, so I voted for the Hearst.

It's on the stage of interior decoration, residents not moved in yet.

I think Edward's old avatar was much more friendly.

I'm excited about all ofthese projects. Obviously, steel rising by the WTC is symbolic. TWC creates a wonderful gateway to the UWS and replaces a horrific building. Perry West shows that there is room and a market for good architecture. Foster's plan for Hearst is hard to assess. The rendering looks great, but I can't say I'm excited just yet. Maybe when steel starts rising. Overall, I'm most excited by Bloomberg. I think it is just going to be a stunning building.

By the way, can anyone post polls?

Yeah. I think polls are fun.

I voted for Goldman Sachs, because it is NJs tallest building. Although it's across the river, it was in the poll so I voted. I definately like it the best. But if I had to pick a second I don't know if I could. I personally like AOL TW, and it's even better because there are two buildings and a mall, Bloomberg is going to be the tallest one U/C in NYC. 7 WTC will be a nice size, and very symbolic. Times Square is also a nice size and an interesting building, I love its facade. Then you have Hearst and Perry West which both look great, although aren't that tall. So i picked Sachs even though they are all great choices.

The Sachs is a great choice. It looks nice and it the 2 IFC's little brother. I really like the 2 IFC and the Goldman Sachs.

its a tie between AOL TW and Bloomberg. Today i was on central park south and the sky being so blue was making some absolutely awesome reflection on AOL TW. They simply looked amazing, like diamonds! The glass used is of great quality and the way they are set back a few times with each wall face set at a different angle made them have a different sun/sky reflection. The buildings looked alive!!

I hesitated between Goldman Sachs and Bloomberg.
I'm not really sure whether Bloomberg is taller, but that's the one I chose finally. Better location, and the design is more original.

Bloomberg is indeed taller. And it has more floors.

I voted Hearst because it's the first major project that Foster has done for New York, plus it's one of the first major projects in New York where the original design wasn't subject to alteration or major protest. If AOL-TW is the gateway to the new West Side, then Hearst, along with the NYT Tower, are a definite affirmation of its coming renaissance.

Huh. I didn't realize that I was the lone fan of 7 World Trade...

Is anyone else excited to see Downtown get Some Construction?

What's exciting about 7WTC is that it's far better than the old one. Well, at least according to the renderings.

RE: 7WTC....

I'm excited about the construction, but the design is kind of ho-hum...

Id compare 7 WTC to Bloomberg Tower. The east podium is a great building in-itself but only a precedent to the tower. 7WTC is an exciting project, but the anticipation is on the construction to the south.

I voted for the Hearst building. Apart from its revolutionary (at least for NY) design, I can definitely see it filling in a gap in one of the best cityscapes in NY - the view from Central Park. While I am excited that 7WTC is going up, I never doubted that it would happen, and I am very disappointed with the leisurely pace of its construction.

In general, of all the aforementioned projects, the Foster building was the least likely to actually get built. 7WTC and Bloomberg were being erected on effectively empty lots, while TWC was replacing the eyesore of the Coliseum. Foster, on the other hand, is being built on top of an existing landmark.

Size matters.

I think design goes to Hearst, but overall impressiveness... AOLTW takes the cake.
