One of the most fascinating things about the Middle East besides the oil are the number of skyscrapers being built. Right now, the major skyscrapers cities in the M.E are Tel Aviv/Ramat Gan in Israel and Dubai in the U.A.E.

Dubai at night. The twin buildings on the right are the Emirates Towers which is currently the tallest buildings in the Middle East. The Emirates Office Tower is 1163 ft and is 54 stories.

Great pics posts of Dubai, Tel Aviv and Riyadh.

In the 4th pic post of Tel Aviv, the 2 towers were both completed in 1999.
The taller is Azrieli Center Round Tower @ 187m/614ft and
the shorter in the foreground, is Azrieli Center Triangle Tower @ 169m/554ft.

The Burj al Arab is not the tallest hotel in the world. Its height is extended because of its huge spire; but either way it turns out that the Ryugyong Hotel is a few feet higher.

The Riyadh Building you featured is the Al Faisalah Center, not Kingdom Center. It's likely that the photo was taken from Kingdom, though.

The Burj al Arab is not the tallest hotel in the world. Its height is extended because of its huge spire; but either way it turns out that the Ryugyong Hotel is a few feet higher.
Regardless, The Burj al Arab is still an amazing structure to say the least.

The Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea still remains an empty shell.
In 1992 construction was halted apparently due to lack of finances to complete it.
It still stands at 330m/1,083ft. However, still has never been used - what a waste :(

I heard that the construction quality or perhaps the cement quality of the Ryugyong Hotel was so bad that its actually sagging and not safe for occupancy. But then again, this is N Korea who know what's true.

Oops, my bad! But TLoz, Ryoungyang Hotel may be taller than the Burj but the building itself is abandoned or unoccupied. So the Burj is currently the tallest hotel in the world. And it's hard to tell whether the Ryongyang is a hotel or a hidden missile silo?

If you look at the images of Ramat Gan, the city resembles the downtown cities of LA and Orange County. If not, most middle-size US cities.

Other skyscraper cities that I didn't mention is Cairo. Altough it's skyscrapers may not be as tall as Dubai or Tel Aviv, it still has an impressive skyline.

I think that youll find that that's the Al fisaliah centre in Riyadh, the kingdom centre is the green one with the huge hole in it.

And by the way most people call it the bottle opener
it has 30 floors because thats the restriction in Riyadh but there is not a height restriction as far as im aware.

The Al Fisaliah tower is designed by norman foster, Boy that man is great! this also has 30 floors but is a little bit smaller than the kingdom centre.
