My wife and I will be in New York in early May and are trying to find a reasonably priced hotel/apt. to stay at for a month. At $100/night, that gets mighty costly! Any advice, even in New Jersey or further afield (a fair commute in to NYC). We'll be apt. hunting.
I did find one on E. 59th but not sure of the area (Central Park South near Bloomies).
Thanks for your 2 cents.

Check the Morningside view on 107th between Broadway and Amsterdam.
$65.00 a night shared bath, kitchenette, 2 blocks for the subway. Clean area this might help you out.

Hey, many thanks to normaldude and Marty for those links!
I think after we get our bearings at a temporary apt. we'll have a better idea of where we want to live in Manhattan or other boroughs, like Queens (Flushing, Astoria..), Brooklyn (Williamsburg, Park Slope)...
It's encouraging to meet such helpful folks who know the Big Apple.
Peace and good jazz to you!

Short term sublet signs usually start going up on lamp posts in Park Slope around May. A furnished sublet is definitely the way to go. Much cheaper than $100/night and you can be smack, dab in the middle of things....
