What's going on at 1 E. 35th St? There's an empty lot there and I came across this website: http://www.ruddrealty.com/1E35.htm
I wonder who might buy this prime site...

Slightly. The facade is a little bit interesting, but the windows are hideous.

If this is the one being built on the north side of East 35th Street, just in from Fifth Avenue, it is about as boring as you could imagine. I was walking with a friend and we were guessing it would be some cheapie hotel like a Fairfield Inn. It is plain, boring and totally uninspired. This one looks like it was all about the bottom line. Cheap design and cheaply built.

^ Just three words: H. Thomas O'Hara
Any updates on 1-3 East 35th Street? Are you sure you want to know? Don't say you weren't warned.
There's another thread already on this one here (http://www.wirednewyork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8387), with more details and pictures.

What is it with O'Hara's seeming inability to connect a building to the street: bad set-back configuration, horrid scale at the street-level -- the list goes on..........

It really is a horrendous structure. It's not residential is it? I thought for sure it was some sort of low-end hotel or assisted living.

What tips you off, the exposed floor plates? The 8 foot ceilings?
I do, in fact, believe that this will be condos.

That's him officer. The one in the second photo. I was walking by, minding my own business, when he outright assaulted me. I want to press charges,
