I've always thought of this place as being a small forum.... huh.

December must have been FT's unveiling... but what about February?

In February the Shops at Columbus Circle at Time Warner Center were opened. Type "Time Warner Center" in Google, and Wired New York page is second on the list.

Looks like the bump took place in early December, but the Freedom Tower wasn't unveiled until mid-December....then again there was that buildup argument between Libeskind and Childs, so that could've helped WNY.

The graph shows rank, e.g. the site with the number 1 rank has the highest traffic.

In addition to traffic rank Alexa can show traffic reach. They define the reach in the following way:

Reach measures the number of users. Reach is typically expressed as the percentage of all Internet users who visit a given site. So, for example, if a site like yahoo.com has a reach of 28%, this means that if you took random samples of one million Internet users, you would on average find that 280,000 of them visit yahoo.com. Alexa expresses reach as number of users per million.

So the traffic reach of 20 means that 0.002% of all Internet users visit the site. You can also compare the reach of different sites, for example the graph below compares wirednewyork.com, timeoutny.com, and nymetro.com:

I even put in a promo for WNY on the "Curbed Comments" called buildingspotters.

I knew NYW was on to somthing when curbed started going heavily into "reader comments" and the like.

Congrats Edward......great, and growing, website.

This is a Happy New Year.

Nice job Edward! As always, you continue to serve up one of the best sites on the web. Moderators get a bravo from me as well. It truly is unique...

The links I posted above stopped working - Alexa changed the code, so I have created a page that shows comparison of traffic reach between Wired New York and some selected websites.

I think if there was a graph for size:quality ratio wny would go off the chart. It is amazing to read the intelligence on WNY and then read the crap posted on SSC or Curbed posters idiotic comments. We have a really unique community here which isnt replicated anywhere
