When the insurgents lay down their weapons? When free elections are held next January? Or when they open a Disney, Baghdad? (Followed by JC Penny, Taco Bell, and a Starbucks.)

...I hate the war!... I don't think anyone actually wins! there's just a lot of people shooting at each other in an attempt to cause maximum harm to one another for the greedy power hungry leaders... non of the actual soldiers gain anything from it!!... The fact is, our priminister is getting voted out for making us join this stupid war!...

Actually, he is getting voted out more on the hate for America right now than on any of his doings.

it's a tough position, but think about it. What would you have done, seriously, considering all the ties (militarily, politically, financially) that we have? Also, give the evidence that was LATER to be proven false.....

Hard times for TB!

Nader says Kerry and Bush both hold the same position: to continue the war until it's won. Perhaps there's a fourth-party candidate out there with a solution.

Solution to what, eliminating war from all of humanity and sitting everyone down to sing Kum ba yah?

Good idea! Oh, but I don't know the words. Could you please post the lyrics. What key is it in?

I used to be a member of Flip-Floppers For Bush (formerly Flip-Floppers For Kerry). I still haven't made up my mind. Is anyone else still undecided ... about registering to vote?

Hate to break the bad news to you - Tony ain't going anywhere !!!
No way that Howard can beat him and with the various inquiries into the legality of the war "clearing" him, he won't resign and will win another election :x

Watching Fox yesterday - Cavuto - Amazed at the complete stupidity of the people emailing in who wanna bomb the Mosque in Najaf - have these people learnt nothing from 9/11 ???

Although there is never ever anyway the actions of the terrorist can be justified - blowing up one of the most holy sites in Islam is just gifting Osama more followers.

Rant Over - Calm thoughts 8)

Does anyone have a plan for winning and getting out?

(Talking about the war, not the election.)

I can see no way, short of the Iraqi rebel factions becoming fed up with it all and going back to their pre-invasion lives, that this war can ever be won. Even then there will still be the terrorists whose stated aim is to destroy all 'western' life and culture.

All that the Americans and the British can do is fight a war of containment.
And it has to be said that the war of containment is working, at least here in the UK. I can't speak for the US.
Only today (Sept 26) an airliner from Greece was reported to have a bomb on board. RAF fighters were sent to meet it over southern England with the order to force the airliner to land at Stanstead.
It is clear that, had that airliner been under the control of terrorists, it would have been shot down....by the Royal Air Force.
such is the commitment of the British Government to win this 'War on Terrorism'.

Did you notice that Bush dropped the flip-flop line in the last debate and instead dialed back to the ever-feebler "liberal" label?

That's what a three-peat shutout will do to a phony campaign slogan. :)

Coke used to be "the real thing." They all change their advertising.
