We just vacuumed a puddle from the basement floor, and the toilet is rather highly loaded. The hardest fall is supposed to be early tomorrow morning. :? In the past we've had floods with 2-3 feet of water.

Anyone else flooding?

Nothing for me to worry about...until the effects of global warming are more evident.

I remember flooded basements in Sheepshead - the consequence of living on reclaimed wetlands.

It ended up not going higher than it had. Lucky thing. There's a subterranean stream 7 feet under our house, which doesn't help when there's rain. But hallelujah, the floor is drying out.

Ah, the perils of homeownership. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as you feared, Gulcrapek.

There is a new, two-foot-wide, bottomless pothole down the street that formed in the latest deluge. Since most of the storm drains are plugged up, the rainwater found another way down and eventually created its own outlet. Who knows where the hole leads, but it can't be good. You'd think unplugging the storm drains is cheaper than repairing whatever damage may be done, but that's just crazy talk I guess.

Where I am from, it floods every year. I never have been flooded out before. Floods are real mess. Sometimes up to 25 inche of rain falls in 12 hours. It happen in 2001.
