I have 6 invitations for Google's Gmail. If anyone is interested, PM me your first name, last name, and email address.

Interested. What does Gmail offer?

I have 6 invites, too. I know very little about computer technology, so I can't really go in depth with what Gmail offers, but I can tell you that it has worked great for me so far.

What exactly is the purpose of having invitations?

Because Gmail is in beta version it is not open to the public yet. However you can get an account even now if an existing holder of Gmail account sends you an invite.

Gmail is an email web-based service similar to Hotmail, but it offers 1 Gb of space for your emails, and uses innovative methods of organizing your emails.

My only caveat for Gmail (I have one personally) is that in the Acceptable Use Policy, you will submit to allowing the folks @ Google (who are providing the free webmail service) the ability to scan the contents of your email, and then in turn deliver sponsors/advertisers marketing messages to your Gmail account, that match up w. the keywords found in the scans of your email...

i.e. you mention loving the new Mustang GT, and thinking about trading in your old one, next thing you know, you've got an email from either the local Ford dealer, or the national marketing team of Ford promoting a new 1.9% financing on the new GT... great for marketers, maybe not so great for you. From the feedback of users I know, the majority feel it's good, because the promotions are for things they have interest in, vs. just blanket spammers for hair growth, penis growth, online dating, male erectile dysfunction, pornography, vitamins, pharmaceuticals from Canada, illegal software, etc., etc.

Peace.
