The Mayflower Hotel

The Mayflower Hotel near Columbus Circle is having a clearance sale. It's worth going in just to look through the rooms and the interior of the building. You can walk around on your own. There is a very large suite (photo with the treadmill) on the 17th floor that is pretty cool, although it has no view of Central Park. There is a wrap around balcony, but the doors leading out to it were screwed shut. The other pics are from a corner room looking at the Park and Columbus Circle.

Every time I see the GM Building, my stomach turns. The destruction of the Savoy-Plaza Hotel ranks up there as one of the worst moments in New York real estate history.

Nice shot. Any idea of the date? That must be the Broadway side of the building - right now there is only an empty lot there. I don't remember seeing those arches, I'll look next time I go by.
