US Virgin Islands; St.Thomas and St.John

From my August vacation, this was my fourth visit to the US Virgin Islands, My Fiancee's first. The Summer is a great time to go because the hotels are more affordable, it's a bad time to go because it was [/b]HOT.

The first three days we spent on St.Thomas, at the Frenchman's Reef Marriot, the hotel stradles a cliff over looking both the Carribean and Charlotte Amalie Harbor.

Love the U.S.V.I. - I went down to St. Croix in 1990 after Hurrican Hugo caused severe damage and wound up staying there for a few months. St. John's is incredible. Beautiful photos, STT757.

I've always thought that Gaugin had the right idea -- Escape the rat race; go to Tahiti, and take countless 16 y.o wives!

Yes, but most don't. There are undeveloped stretches of beach on St. Croix where anything goes (and I mean anything), but not at any of the resorts I've been to.

When my tiny plane first touched down in St. Croix the last time I went, a friend was waiting on the runway barefoot, wearing just shorts, and carring a six-pack of beer. No rules whatsoever. But that was the mid-90's, I get the feeling they might have cracked down a little since then.
