Which one do you prefer...?
If you had to live in one of them, Which one would you choose...?

Australia or Canada

Canada in the summer.

Australia in the summer.

Hey, that's convenient.

I like Sydney - so that's the tiebreaker.

Definitely Australia. Canada's too boring. I've been to Toronto, and I didn't think it was anything special. I'm sure Sydney or Melbourne are much nicer. Plus Australia has a nicer climate and a friendlier culture. Also I hear Perth is a really nice city.

Canada is not boring, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver etc. are very nicer in summer and winter. Nevertheless I think Australia is nice too, but I'd prefer live in Canada.

I would live in USA (and will some day). But if I had to choose between Canada and Australia I`d pick Canada because it has some similarities with USA.

I like both countries a lot. I went with Canada however since Austrialia is a long flight from everything and I would not want to be that removed from the rest of the world.

Many Canadians would not appreciate the comparison :P

Canada, no question about it:

I'd say western Canada is quite possibly the most beautiful place in the world. I would say only the US surpasses Canada when it comes to the range of environment that a country can have, although where the US has developed polluted areas Canada has unbroken forests and pristine lakes.

As far as the cities go they all rank in the world's highest quality of life surverys every year with Vancouver and Montreal leading that survey most years.

Surveys are a bunch of nonsense.

Gonna have to go with Australia for me.

I'm hot all the time and I don't like sunlight, so I'll have to go with winter in Australia and winter in Canada.

Umm... those sled dogs in the pic: why are they riding ON TOP of it instead of PULLING it?

Canada, hands down. Reasons:

1. No scorpions, crocs, or puff adders in Canada.
2. Dan Aykroyd
3. Canada's Embassy to Iran passed off Americans as Canadians during the 1979 Iranian revolution. I'll never forget that. Slick move. Class act.
4. The Maritime provinces are way cool.
5. Canadians drive on the right.

there are things special about toronto. if a city in australia can rival toronto it would be sydney. your assumption that perth and melbourne are better cities than toronto is laughable. plus canada has montreal, vancouver, and calgary that are great cities

Vancouver is really nice, although we only saw it on our way to Whistler/Blackcomb.

BTW, that drive on a sunny day is GORGEOUS!!!!!

Why Australia vs Canada? What is the point of this thread? Why not Nepal versus Panama?
