Looking for a hip, comfortable hotel

I am looking for a hip, fun, yet comfortable and quiet hotel (is that possible?) to stay at in March when my husband and I come to the city to celebrate our anniversary. I am leaning toward the W at Times Square, and The Muse looks interesting. Could someone please give me the buzz on those hotels as well as any other suggestions you might have.

If you'd like to stay at the W, you would probably prefer the Union Square branch. You're not going to find quiet anywhere near Times Square.

How about the Tribeca or Soho Grand?
