A little bit of everything. I'm a huge fan of Prince and Fleetwood Mac, but I also love U2, the Stones, assorted Motown, Alicia Keys, Led Zeppelin...the list goes on and on. Lately I've gotten into Jimi Hendrix and other bands and performers from the '60s. I like The Darkness, but I think at this point that they're doomed to be a one-hit wonder — nay, a one-hit spectacular, considering that their album went, what, four times platinum?

You have great taste. But I disagree about The Darkness. Arena rock and hair bands will make a glorious comeback and Justin Hawkins will lead the way.

Electric Six
Modest Mouse
The Shins
The Darkness
The Doves
Jeff Buckley
The Killers
Mars Volta
Franz Ferdinand
The Strokes

I like almost everything (but really hate every kind of electronical music). My very favourites are the Soul musicians (Joss Stone or Alicia Keys for example) and some rappers like Eminem. I'm also into the good old Motown stuff. It depends on the mood I'm in.

Me, too. I like almost everything except very metallic sounds. I love Jazz music as they play it here in Prague and classics by Mozart, Smetana, Dvorak and Schubert have always a high ranking with me.

My wife and I both love alternative rock, but it looks like we are going to have to get Sirius to listen to it. I hate that K-Rock switched their format. We long for the old WLIR Screamer of the Week!

I like to listent to Plume Latraverse, he doesn't suck as Céline Dion. My favorite banned band in Canada is The mentors. I passed the border with an El Duce's CD, if the canadian custom officer saw my CD he would seize me but fortunately he didn't see anything when he did his inspection in the Jeep. I also like to listent to classical music.

Hi there!
My personal favorites are the good oldies from the early 50s to the late 70s and rockbands like Deep Purple, Saxon, Thin Lizzy, Sweet, Alice Cooper etc etc for "home use". ;)
But in clubs there´s no better music for me than Pop and Dance.
So long...
Greetings

Teenage pals Valerie Lawley and Inge Kettler could barely hear the Fab Four's riffs through a wall of hysterical screaming.
But as the Flushing High School students packed into Shea Stadium with another 55,000 Beatles fans in 1965, they knew they had front-row seats to the making of history.
Tomorrow marks the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' historic concert, a performance that shaped a generation and rocked the music industry.
It was the night many believe John, Paul, George and Ringo stopped being a pop group — and became a legend.
"We were trying to decipher the music, but we couldn't hear it at all," remembered Kettler, now 59 and still living in Queens, on the eve of the anniversary.
"It was phenomenal. Just being caught up in all that noise, it was like everyone was screaming as one person."
"Inge's uncle knew somebody who worked at Shea and got us box seats, right at first base," said Lawley, 58, who now lives in Virginia.
"I remember them running out of the dugout and we saw the backs of their heads only a few feet away. It was so exciting.
"We were screaming so loud we didn't hear one verse, but I remember it like it was yesterday. We were a part of history."
The band played for 32 minutes, running through a hit list including "Hard Day's Night," "Help" and "Ticket to Ride."
Sid Bernstein, the promoter responsible for bringing The Beatles to Queens, said, "John Lennon told me later, 'You know Sid, at Shea Stadium I saw the top of the mountain.' " Now 87, Bernstein, who lives on the upper East Side, said, "I had never doubted they could fill Shea.
"[Beatles manager] Brian Epstein wasn't sure, but I told him I'd pay him $10 for every empty seat."
The concert certainly changed the four musicians, said XM radio DJ Ken Michaels, who hosts a Beatles program.
"They realized just how popular they were," he said. "Packing a stadium had never been done before. It was a huge milestone for the Beatles. They knew they were big, but this was outrageous to them, that they could fill something like that.
"That night also changed the music industry. Businessmen began to realize just how popular music could be."
"The boys were very, very nervous about Shea," said journalist and author Larry Kane, the only American reporter to travel with the Beatles on their 1965 tour.
"They flew in in a helicopter and as soon as it landed, I remember I thought I was going to lose my hearing. The screaming was louder than I had ever heard.
"It was so noisy and so chaotic that Ringo couldn't hear the songs they were singing and was sometimes drumming to a different song."
The evening greatly affected the lives of many of those who were there, including Queens teenager Don Scardino. He went on to write and direct the Broadway show "Lennon," playing at Times Square's Broadhurst Theatre.
"I said I'm not going to scream like a teenage girl," he remembers. "And then I was standing shouting at the top of my lungs. It was like a wave of noise in there. "The Beatles, and that night, shaped me totally. There's been nothing quite like that since."

It varies by what sort of mood I'm in. Also, I don't necessarily like every song by a certain artist. Here is a shortened version of my top rated playlist:

Lately, though, I have been in a much more Taylor Swift (http://www.myspace.com/taylorswift) centered mood.

I like all types of music. My favorite genres are probably rock and alternative. But I'll listen to almost anything. Favorite bands at the moment are Avenged Sevenfold, Aiden, My Chemical Romance, and The Used. Though, I'm also a guitarist and lately have been listening to alot of the older rock music because most of todays is based off that..so I've been listening to Black Sabbath, Metallica, Guns N Roses, The Beatles, The Doors, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, whatever I can think of.

As of right now, today, I am particularly liking the new B52s release, Funplex. 80% of the CD is "good stuff," a long-overdue and worthwhile effort. There's some real catchy songs on here that immediately grab you and say "it's a hit."
The great Ricky Wilson would approve.

It's a mood thing. I like all types of music so long as it speaks to the mood I'm in while listening.
