Going to visit NYC on August 2005 :-)

Hello,
me and a friend going to visit NYC on August. We plan to catch a cheap flight with 14 days of time to spend in NYC. We both are germans and 30+ years old, but we feel young enough to search for an private accomodation to participate on the real NY live with authetic feeling. Therefore don´t hesitate to answer to this thread, if you see a chance to give us a possibility to visit NY without booking a impersonally hotel. We are unambitious according to the sleeping accomodation, but await nice and communicative people to spend a good time.

Park Slope in Brooklyn usually has lots of summer sublets around that time. It would be cheaper than a hotel stay for 14 days. Check out www.newyork.craigslist.org. You might find listings there. Or you could post your apartment in Germany for a swap vacation, NY folks go and stay at your place, you stay at theirs.
