working in NY

Hello people,
Myself, boyfriend and best friend are going to NY for 10 weeks in the Summer. I'll be studying at AADA but also want to work....is it handy enough to get work without a visa or is that a big no no? We would be more than willing to work for tips. anyone any ideas on the best way to go about getting some work in a pub or something?

I doubt you'd be able to find work as a waiter (too much competition, as tips are actually quite high). You are more likely to find a spot delivering food to people's houses. There are a number of illegal immigrants making a living that way. However, be prepared to be making below minimum wage.
