For anybody who has any family or friends coming into New York or Newark the railroad bridge between Kearny and Secaucus that carries the Northeast Corridor line over the Hackensack River caught fire this evening at 7:30pm. It started on one of the supports that holds the bridge up and eventually spread to the tracks and service on NJTransit and Amtrack trains is suspended until further notice. It is not known when service between Newark and New York will resume but until then to get into Manhattan coming from the South you will have to get off at Newark Penn Station and take a PATH train to 33rd St. and Herald Square which is a block away from New York Penn Station or just take the NJTransit train from Newark Penn Station to Hoboken and get on the PATH from there. To get to areas South of New York from New York or from points North, take a PATH train to Hoboken and take a train from there. If anyone has anymore questions just post them or private message me. By the way the PATH wil crosshonor NJT tickets until the service is resumed
