You‘ll see a rubber ball orchestra, dolphins diving over giant balls, a wickedly fun playground romp, a moon garden with serene orbiting planets, a genie balanced on a pearl, a 100 ball waterfall and other one-of-a-kind dances, all created using bodies and balls. This acclaimed suite of ”balls dances” appeals to adventurous people of all ages. The New York Times describes BOUNCE as, ”an unalloyed delight” with an ”infinite-seeming range of lithe expressive physicality” Don‘t miss it!

Donald Byrd / Spectrum Dance Theater
The Sleeping Beauty Notebook
November 2 - 12 at 7:30pm

”In this radical vision of a classical work, Byrd questions our definitions of ballet, and of beauty, offering us multiple alternatives to both.” – Seattle Weekly

The Sleeping Beauty Notebook offers a dream–like vision of beauty, dissected, parsed, and reconfigured. The work draws on contemporary dance theater, burlesque, classical ballet, nineteenth–century pantomime, and psychologically driven characterizations. Asking more questions than it answers, The Sleeping Beauty Notebook challenges the boundaries of beauty as a handmaiden to both feminine innocence and classicism. Here, beauty may be complex, odd, masculine, and of course, tragic.

Ben Munisteri Dance Projects
Tuesday, 4 a.m. and other dances
January 18 - 21 at 7:30pm
January 20 at 10:00pm
“Visceral, finely constructed dances... wild and vigorous..“ – The New York Times

Ben Munisteri Dance Projects premieres Tuesday, 4 a.m., choreographed to Stravinsky’s Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra. Set during a moment when most of us are unconscious, Munisteri’s newest work is tinged with dream logic and colored by the score’s unpredictable path. The program also includes 2004’s Turbine Mines and last summer’s Not Human and Thunderblood, which features live music by Evren Celimli and Mike Rivard. The company includes Lisa Wheeler, Tricia Brouk, Christine McMillan, Eric Sean Fogel, Danica Holoviak, Hope Davis, and Beau Hancock.
