Yes, the b&W with the yellow cab is a familar pic, but I'm assuming not the same. Nice pics.

outstanding. how do you keep certain things in color and change the surroundings to B&W in photoshop?

You fence them, cut out/copy what you want, turn "off' the color in the background layer (or in the mask) and the color will be left on everything else.
For things like the BQE sign it would be a relatively simple strait line on what would essentially be rather grey immediate suttoundings (so you could fuzz the edge of the cutout a bit and not have a color-fog around your object).
The flag is still crisp, but more organic.
People are really hard to do this with, especially hair......
