I was just thinking that I was gonna gorge myself at an all vegetarian restaurant as soon as my feet hit NY pavement. Where I'm from there's a whole lot of ethnic vegetarian options. But I'd like to try something besides falafel and homestyle bean curd. Do either of you have any suggestions for a veg. traditional american restaurants? I mean, not an omnivore restaurant with veg options; I want it full fledge.

You could spend a week eating each meal at a different veg restaurant in NYC without repeating. If you like fake meat, the best option (hands down!) is Red Bamboo on West 4th Near 6th ave. Rediculously good with some soul food fakes among a mostly American menu. The buffalo wings and "dante's" fake beef are favorites.

This (http://www.sondraslair.com/restaurants.html) is a way more compresensive listing of vegetarian spots than the site above, and it has reviews. Don't let the homely 90's style site design scare you off.
