And listen to the first 10 minute installment for free! Be sure to visit 85 E 4th Street at 10:30 on any Thursday Night to watch the talented cast of this hilarious play record the podcast! Reservations are strongly suggested!

Inspired by the late-night dare of a skeptical colleague, playwright Terry Withers set out to create a modern day problem play, a piece that would demand attention but defy production. The result was MY HEART SPLIT IN TWO, a comedy of tragic proportions, couched in a world of improbably charming violence.

This summer Lucid Theatre attempts to take on Withers' defiant offering. Tackling a touch of Seneca with some vintage Orson Welles, Lucid will present the piece as a staged radio play.

Starting August 4th at The Red Room (85 East Fourth Street, between 2nd and 3rd Ave., Third Floor, no wheelchair access), the show will feature foley artistry, audience participation, and the first-ever podcast of an original play!

Merging live theater and the lastest technology craze, Lucid's podcasts will be available for free worldwide, bringing humanity's oldest art form into the 21st Century!! Listeners can visit www.lucidtheatre.com for directions on how to download and enjoy every unconventional performance. Each Thursday at 10:30 PM a limited number of theatergoers will have a chance to be part of the action. Lucky members of the studio audience will share the air with a madcap company of radio players as they unleash a story so loopy, so ludicrious, they may literally lose their heads.

Reservations for the live in-studio performances are strongly recommended and may be made at the company's website or by calling (646) 546-5674. Tickets are $12 or pay-what-you-roll at the door.

Celebrated by the Boston Globe for his dark humor and expert pacing, director Brendan Hughes (Sugan Theatre, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater) will helm a rotating cast that includes Brenda Withers (Matt & Ben), Bob Holman (Bowery Poetry Club), Adrianne Dunbar, Paul Murillo, and Joe Thompson. Audio design will be provided by Ben Arons, who will also advise the group on how to tastefully reproduce the sound of a splitting head.
