I was born in 77' and my oldest and happiest memories are of the old dirty movies houses on 42nd street.I loved them all.especially the one that had the Hot Dog stand right in the front outside.Does anyone else remember that.Or old photos?

I think that was the Selwyn theater.

I have been searching for old 42nd St. pics, mainly from the 80s. PLEASE post some if you have them.

...impressive and crazy at one time - for me, your NYC is a real strange far away world - but I love it since I was there in 1989. Great to see private shoot pictures of the town.

I worked there as well. We closed in 1997 (just 2 months before the facade collapsed). The last one was located under the Selwyn at 229 West 42nd Street. My father (together with his dad) was there on 42nd from the 1940's.

I would love to hear more, or see pics for any of you have any.

e-mail me any pics or stories - mhsu6@aol.com

Thanks,
Mark
