Hi,

First off thanks for setting this message board up, it's very helpful.

We are hoping to visit New York next year and are thinking of renting an apartment on a short term.

The apartment is on west 46th street in midtown Manhattan. Is this a good and safe area to be in?

We would like to see the usual tourist things like a Broadway show and the Empire State building etc.

Thanks for your help.

West 46th sounds good enough to me.
Which Avenue?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm pretty sure it's 7th avenue.

Thanks

I stay at W46 & 8th when I visit. I love it. Good eateries, Broadway & Times Square & public transportation.

Very safe, very touristy area - just a few blocks from times square. Walking distance to theaters if that's your thing.

i have a friend who is about 65 & has been living in the same apartment on 46 & 9th since 1961. His rent is only $45 a month(!) I kid you not! And he & the landlord/owner are around the same age & really good friends, so he never has to worry about being evicted.:D
