View Full Version : The Trump kids

I don´t see much TV and only rarely American TV but I did recently catch a short interview with Donald Trump´s children. I imagine these two will eventually take over their father´s business... which will of course mean that they´ll have quite an influence, architecturally speaking, on NYC and elsewhere. What´s the dirt on these two? Smart kids? Spoiled brats? They seemed intelligent and very polished. His daughter was low-key modern looking... nothing like her shoulder padded mom. Despite the Donaldish light blue tie & shirt combo, the son seemed cool. I wonder what kind of decisions they´ll make.

I remember watching a program once about Trump where he claimed he made every attempt not to spoil his kids. Apparently his son often had to borrow money from friends while at college to pay for standard expenses.

And I'm sure most of them reminded him of his last name and said "you've absolutely got to be kidding".

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump was hyper stingy with his kids when it comes to money, not considering how callous he is when it comes to charitable giving. The most his foundation has ever given in a year is what, like $350K? Check this guy out - for him supposedly being a billionaire, he is the modern day Mr. Scrooge.

Dude, I agree totally. Trump says he's got the dough. The man should spread it around some. Even then I can't believe he maxed out as low as $350,000 in a single year.

The Donald should be ashamed of himself.

Trump, check it man, the more I see and read and hear of this man the more respect I lose for him.

I'm telling you: Read O'Brien's book "Trump Nation." It'll make your head spin and your skin crawl. I love that even though Trump was claiming billions in assets, he Regulaotors in Jersey were claiming Trump didn't have enough cash to support his casino companies. Their report said that Trump's Organization was really hurting.

Of course, since it seems Trump doesn't have the money he claims he has, maybe that IS why Trump stiffed his kids while they were in college!

Only a spoiled kid would think that not being given everything he wanted or needed meant being stiffed.

I'm not saying Trump should give his kids everything. I'm simply saying it makes more sense for the allegedly loaded father of a college student to help pay for necessities, especially when his son is having to borrow from friends. Make sense?

Anyway, the real argument I was making is that I was not at all surprised to hear Trump was stingy with his kids, considering how ridiculously stingy he has been with charitable giving. Do you believe that Trump is "doing the right thing and assuring the future happiness" of those in need - when he is stiffing folks concerning charity?

Or do you feel someone of Trump's stature should not be giving much in charity? Does being charitable hurt Trump's self-made image as a once bankrupt, mover and shaker, with a heart of stone?

Yes, indeed, the good old smoking gun comes to rescue the truth. Thanks for bringing that up, lofter1.

Trump is as cheap as they come, for a man of his purported wealth. Per capita, I can guarantee I give one helluva lot more to charity than Trump does. In fact, I bet most Americans do.

Just noticed you quoted me on the forum and stated that Forbes says Trump is a billionaire. Good for Forbes! Those types always stick together. All I can say is that everyone who really wants the nitty gritty on Trump should read "Trump Nation." The man is a paper tiger and the "paper" ain't all green.

Wait until the Smoking Gun gets down to business about how Trump hired Anthony Pellicano, that publicity nut PI, to tap Marla Maples phone. Pellican just got charged last month with wiretapping Stallone and that Kung Fu guy Carradine. He also bribed a policeman to give him all kinds of dirt on Hollywood types.

I caught "The Apprentice" a few times when the show first hit but something, maybe picking up on what you said in your comment, that Trump is "disgusting" veered me away from the tube when he came on.

More than that, is that the more I read about Trump the more I realized he's a paper tiger. There is really no "there" there with this guy. Trump blew out his casino investors by filing for bankruptcy a few years ago. Do I want to watch a guy who made his name off of bankruptcies firing other people? And now he's got to build up and remodel some of his Jersey casinos because they're dumps, at least compared to some of the other fare you can find in Atlantic City. Have you seen the Trump Taj lately? It's like a bus terminal.

I read in yesterdays AC Press that Trump was paid more than $2 million smackers last year as chairman of his casino and resorts. For a dude that pretty much destroyed these places, thats a lot of money! How does this happen? At least they yanked the CEO position out from under him.

Anyway, guess Trump might need the cash to pay for some legal fees, you know? That nut PI Pellicano that Trump played footsie with when splitting from MM is getting rammed in CA, and word is that Pellicano may have done some illegal phone tapping on more than just Hollywood types. Did Marla Maples have any kids, not by Trump maybe but just any kids? I bet she'd qualify as a MILF!

Maples was the hottest of Trump's wives - I mean by far, man. I bet that's why Big Bad Donald tried to Trump her by hiring that nut PI Pellicano to spy on her and crank her up when she split with him.

Keep an eye on this Pellicano stuff, man. All hell's breaking loose out there in Hollywood - that guy who directed Die Hard and some other flicks just got charged in the Pellicano case. Kung Fu Carradine is suing Pellicano, the FBI's interviewed Nickol Kidman about what Pellicano did to her when she and Tom Cruise split. Wonder if Trump "fired" Pellicano before he got to bugging Maples phone?

TRUMP SHUNS HIS, UH, DUTY

FAMILY VALUE: Proud papa Donald
and mom Melania show 10-week-old
Barron Trump a little love, care -
and financial news - every morning.

By Andrea Peyser
June 5, 2006 (http://www.nypost.com/commentary/64734.htm)-- DONALD TRUMP does not do diapers. Not a one. More than two months after little Barron Trump was born into a fabulously charmed existence, his daddy, The Donald, has yet to notch a single nappy change on his belt.
The tycoon, who famously avoids germy handshakes, says it's his wife who won't allow him to do it.

"I would never ask to change him," Donald announces without apology, as he breezes into Barron's blindingly white nursery, 68 floors above Fifth Avenue.

"She loves doing it!"

But mom Melania appears to have other ideas. She stands nearby, perched atop 5-inch stilettos that make me dizzy to contemplate. Lovely Melania seems to frown at Donald's anti-diaper protestations.

Sensing his wife's disapproval, Donald insists, "I would love to change him! But Melania probably wouldn't let me. I'd just do it wrong."

Finally, Melania joins in the banter.

"Yes, you'd probably put it on upside-down," she laughs, conspiratorially.

It's just another ordinary day with the family Trump. They're just regular folk - except Daddy's super rich, and Mommy's supermodel good-looking.

Let Brangelina's spawn get birthed in an African hut. Trump's baby was born right here in Manhattan. And not with a mere silver spoon shoved in his mouth - but with a Tiffany sterling service for 12.

This family's humble abode sprawls over the 66th, 67th and 68th floors of Trump Tower, a marvel of fabulous extravagance and questionably flashy taste.

Frescoes of semi-dressed women adorn the vaulted living-room ceiling. Furnishings include gilded mirrors and marble baths - and that's just in the baby's room.

On a recent visit, my photographer and I were asked to don sterile, white cotton booties - the better to protect the pale, caramel-colored carpet recently installed in Barron's suite of rooms. Evidently, baby barf is not encouraged around here.

We arrive in Barron's room, which is quiet and nearly devoid of color. His crib is painted white. He's dressed all in white.

Even the stuffed animals are pale in color: There's an enormous stuffed dog - "a present from Barbara Walters," said Trump. Also a white tiger and an elephant. "That came from Kathie Lee Gifford."

Melania sails in to greet us, looking far too glamorous and rested for a lady who recently brought an 81/2-pound being into the world. I tell her she's lost her baby weight. Donald arrives just in time to correct me.

"She's almost lost all the baby weight," he says, hanging his suit jacket on the crib and loosening his tie.

Actually, Melania is probably the only woman I've ever known who can concentrate a 4-pound weight increase almost entirely on her cleavage. Donald hoists sleepy Barron from his crib, and coos into his ear, "Future tycoon."

"He's 8 weeks old," Trump says when I ask. This statement comes out sounding more like a question.

"Ten!" Melania and the baby's nurse, whose name is - no kidding - Claire Hollywood, correct him in unison.

"OK, 10," repeats Trump.

Barron William Trump is Donald's fifth child, and his first with Melania, his third wife. He has no memory of ever having changed a diaper for his other kids.

"I would say I have," he says slowly. "But I can't remember when."

His morning routine now includes a few hours of father-son bonding time. Donald takes over the baby's care at 6 a.m., bouncing him on his knee and reading to the tyke. But not Dr. Seuss.

"I read the papers," he says. The business news. "I read your column."

Poor baby. They watch TV. But not "Sesame Street."

"His favorite TV show is the 'Today' show," Trump says.

Fortunately for everyone, little Barron is an incredibly mellow, beautiful child. His features resemble those of a very young Donald - minus the hair, thank goodness. His eyelashes are the longest I've seen. And he's blessed with a terrifically mellow personality.

"He's a cool cucumber," beams Donald. "He's got his mother's personality."

Who CARES that he does not want to change a kids diapers!

The only thing that I can say is stupid about his response is lumping that on his wife rather than just saying "Hey, if you earned as much as I do, would you spend your time dealing with baby poo or would you get someone to do it for you".

It is silly to suppose that he would just stop his buisness day to clean that form of crap.

When it comes to spending time with the kids, then the rules change a bit. But ranking diaper changes up there with important life experiences ranks a close second to Hemmoroids.

But... I think that every man, once in his life, claims: " It's true... I'm changed!"
Can you tell me how many wives he has already had?
However... best wishes!!!:) :)

Eric Trump. Doesn't sound right preceding that last name. I bet the Donald's ego was hurt when he couldn't name him Donald Trump Jr the Second or something else equally garish.

How about abbreviated to just 'Ric?

"Rick Trump." Has a certain ring.

It definitely flows better than Eric, which somehow manages to totally deflate the Trump name "prestige" ...

Rick Trump - short and to the point, nothing but business.

Meanwhile, we all know how he got the inspiration for the name Tiffany.

You're fired, Donald Trump Jr.!

The 28-year-old heir apparent to the Trump real-estate empire has been ousted from his own condo board in a coup d'état during which tenants alleged "arrogant" and "belligerent" behavior and dubious management practices by the board.

Trump Jr. was blindsided at a meeting on Nov. 8, when one angry resident wielding 150 proxy votes replaced the entire seven-member board of 220 Riverside Blvd., one of seven swanky residences at Trump Place, daddy Donald's $3 billion Upper West Side development.

"They treated us with scorn - so it's good riddance," one tenant told The Post.

Trump Jr. called the election "possibly fraudulent" and told The Post he plans to battle back against the resident, Eugenia Kaye.

"I don't like what happened," Trump Jr. said. "What Kaye did was very underhanded."

She "spun a tale about purported mismanagement" then "sought out those tenants she thought would side with her," he said.

Once they did, she asked them to sign a ballot containing the names of six additional board candidates.

"Most of those absentee voters thought they were voting for Kaye alone," he said.

Kaye, wife of filmmaker Tony Kaye, was elected president of the board in the vote. She declined to comment.

Trump Jr., an executive vice president at the Trump Organization, moved into the building two years ago and has served on the board since 2003, when he was appointed by his dad.

In late October, Kaye hand-addressed letters to the owners of all 420 units, outlining a series of grievances.

She also urged them to attend the building's Nov. 8 annual meeting to vote the board out while voting her in. Those who could not attend were asked to vote via proxy.

Among the gripes was the board's requirement that tenants schlep across town to Trump headquarters to read the minutes from its monthly meetings, rather than having them e-mailed or available in the building, another tenant said.

"Even if we did go over there, they wouldn't give us copies of the minutes. We had to read them in the office," the tenant said.

There were also questions about an $80,000 line item in the management's ledger categorized as "other" under "office expenses."

The most irksome issue seemed to be the board's handling of a recent $300,000 Con Ed bill, which it initially said were charges assessed on a faulty electric meter.

"A month later, they sent a second letter telling us it was for a broken gas meter," said another tenant. "We never got the full story."

Condo policy dictates that at least 51 percent of the tenants have to vote against the board to give it the heave-ho.

When only about 60 of the more than 400 owners showed up at the Nov. 8 meeting, Board President Paul Davis informed the group there was no quorum, another tenant said. "That was when Kaye whipped out a stack of about 150 proxy votes - and Donnie Trump's face went white," the tenant said.

Sounds like daddy's boy got the heave-ho because he did not bother watching things on the home front.

I have little doubt that some of the things he was probably doing were doubtful, but at the same time it is not 100%. AND I have no idea if Kaye will not be just the same crap in different...um....clothing? (I have never seen crap in clothing, but the analogy wears thin after bringing "crap" into it.... ;) )

Lets see what happens when Jr. goes to Daddy.
