Looking for decent Apt. in Manhattan or Westchester

Hi Everyone,
I'm living in Florida now but will be moving to NY sometime early next year. Can someone tell me where in Manhattan or Westchester can I find a 2-3 bedroom Apt. for around $2,500 a month? I don't know new york too well so I don't know if that is even possible. If not then please suggest a nice safe neighborhood in NYC where I can find such an apartment. Any help is greatly appreciated.
