I'm going to NYC this summer, trying to plan out where I will shoot the skyline from. In addition to the top of the rock, this looks like another view I'd like from across the river. I've seen other shots from down lower, but I like this one because you can actually see the moving traffic.

Anyone know what building this was taken from, and if it is accessible to anyone? Thanks!

It was taken in Brooklyn, probably from a private building in DUMBO. I doubt you'd be able to get easy access to the building used to take that shot.

Won't hurt to ask though.
ajkaz11, if you ask nicely, you'd be surprised how many doors will open for you. ;)

you'll get a very similar view from Brooklyn Heights promenade. Just take a subway train to Court Street or Borough Hall in Brooklyn and walk to the Promenade. It's free and a nice place to sit on a bench and enjoy the view.

Pedestrian walkway on the Manhattan Bridge.

Or the Empire Fulton Ferry Park, on the water between the Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridges. York Street on the F train is the closest stop. Or High Street on the A & C trains.

The picture was taken from a point higher than the walkway, so it must be from one of the buildings.

I didn't mean to imply that the photo was taken from the bridge.

I was offering a suggestion for getting something similar.

Both shots are spectacular and very similar but not from a same spot... I think the picture in question is taken in DUMBO, probably from a building... But the one from Manhattan Bridge is a real good shot too...

Did you notice?.. The WTC Twins (Towers1&2) are in the pre-9/11 picture... The picture from Manhattan Bridge is missing them but it includes in it the new building that went up in the place Tower 7 ...

I couldn't help but notice...The NY Skyline will never be the same , without the Twins...(((

I actually just posted another question about the more specific location before I found this, but this is also helpful. Thanks!
