I was wondering who else trains in Martial Arts around the City. I study Karate, Kenpo, and Jukido here and will be attending the Twin Tower's Classic. Will anyone else be competing or in attendance?

Not me, sorry.

I have looked into it a bit, but training here is expensive and sometimes hard to attend on a regular basis for a commuter....

DX2K, I've been training martial arts in New York City for the last fifteen years. I've done a variety of things... started with unarmed self defense, then moved on to armed self-defense (mostly swordsmanship) which I've been active with in Manhattan for about ten years. This is the best resource for martial arts in the city that I know of thus far...has a menu-like organization so you can sort through what's available:

Ninjahedge, the prices of these places do vary, but I've found that a good portion of the schools offer free trial lessons, so if cost is an obstacle you could probably jump from art to art taking free lessons for some time. :) Also, I believe there is a Taoist or Buddhist temple in Chelsea that offers continual free instruction in Tai Chi as a sort of community outreach, but the name escapes me at the moment...

All best,
