I'm just about halfway through a 12 1/2 hour nightshift. On my rota, i have to work 4 night shifts per month, and even though i've been working them for 10 years i still hate nights.

Its 2 Am (9 PM in NYC), and i'm tired and bored - and still over 6 hours until i finish.

I've spent the last 2 hours surfing the web (it's quiet tonight here), sifting through Wikipedia and reading through various threads on WNY.

I've drunk about 8 cups of coffee.

The other day i took a two hour train journey. Sitting opposite me was a very overweight man, about 50 years old. He must have weighed about 30 stone - he was so big he took up 2 seats.

During the jouney, he ate constantly, drank about 4 cans of coke and spilt most of the contents of another can across the table which mostly ran onto my lap (he didn't even say sorry). When he wasn't eating he was sleeping, and snoring so loudly i could hear him over the music playing on my ipod. ...

Months don't get much worse than February just gone.

On February 5th my German Shepheard dog had to put down by the vet, and on the 9th my gradmother died. She would have been 99 on February 26th.

Not only did i have to deal with these two deaths, but i also had top criss cross the country several times to arrange the funeral. Due to a family argument it was all left to me, the youngest grandson.

All i can say is thank god its March - i can put all of this ...
