Now is the Summer of my discontent

Well it's all happening here. The queens jubilee, the olympics, and the Gourock outdoor pool
has been refurbished and is now open for business. The workmen are out in their droves and cleaning
things and painting them afterwards. Doh o silly me, it's all for the queen who will visit our litle town
in July I think.
So much money is being spent on this one four hour visit by the queen: that will be queen elizabeth
the second of england and the first of Scotland. Although it is nice to see our little town being sprouced up,
but Comments have been muttered that the money would be better spent making the lives and businesses
of Gourock better than on the queens visit. For example we need traffic wardens to book people who park
where they are not supposed to, more police on the street to enforce the law of no drinking of alcohol
in a public place, a new zebra crossing so we can cross the road safely and give us back our litter bins!!!!
If anyone saw the Star Trek film where Spock was trapped in the engine room which was full of radiation,
Spock said to Captain Kirk "The needs of the many out weight the needs of the few" I only wish our elected
scumbags..erm I mean our elected politians would listen to what we need and not to what they think is best
for us in their humble opinion.
