Why do we pathetically muddle through?

We Brits seem to stumble blindly from one situation to another, and do we learn anything from
our experiences???? I THINK NOT!
Our parlimentarians are currupt, as are our peers (The people in the house of lords whom we are supposed to
call 'sir' and take our moralistic leads from). It now seems that a large number of the Great British public
(I'm not really sure we have the right to have the prefix of Great anymore) are so stupid I almost wet myself
laughing.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but as Mother Nature closes up the summer shop, and Mr Jack Frost come a calling, is this not what is know as the comming of winter?
Here in Scotland and also the north east of england, it has been very cold and heavy snow fall has been very evident
for the past two weeks. Let me repeat that...TWO WEEK OF SNOW AND COLD WEATHER.
Now as the cold weather and snow headed south, and by 'south' I mean london, the home counties and the south east of england, everything has come to a halt again. Whilst the rest of the country gets of with it.
A spokesman for the southern counties said on radio that they did not get enough warning of the impending weather conditions!!!!
As if TWO WEEKS of television, radio and newspaper coverage was not enough warning.
Everything inside the M25 motorway or within commuting distance of london has moaned and groaned under the pressure of two inches of snow.
These people are generally known as 'soft southern softies' by the rest of the country.
I have my drive and the pavement (walkway) outside my house cleared, gritted and salted, not by the council but by
myself. I'm from the old school of 'if it needs doing, roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, the sooner you get it
done the sooner the kettle gets put on'
At the moment, 18.48hrs it is -10c (18f) and this is pretty much normal for us in Scotland, the rest of the
country.....'Ya bunch 'o saft southern saftie sassanachs'
