Looks good. Have they leased the retail space?
When is the Whole Foods opening? And is there any word on takers for all the other retail space? I think there's like 80,000 more square feet of retail scheduled IIRC.
I never said anything about widening platforms.
If anyone is going to be walking by this, could you take a picture and upload it so we can see the progress? Thanks.
Ummm.....yeah. More people will be able to stand on it. That's what I'm saying. Having two 10' wide side platforms is no better than one 20' wide middle platform.
Anyways, I never brought up...
All you have to do is make the island platform twice as wide as you would have made each of the side platforms. That way the total capacity is the same.
Well, hopefully this problem is fixed in the new station.
You seem to be confirming my observation that there are no signs above the stairs (before you choose which staircase you want to descend) saying which train leaves next (I was thinking maybe I just...
I must have missed them then. Or maybe they weren't functioning. The "next train" PATH signs seem to be down all the time (not just at WTC station, but at other stations as well). When I was there...
I don't see why they can't have one line on one side of a platform and the other line on the other side.
My question is why can't they have both lines leave WTC from the same platform so if...
33rd street is the end of two lines. So is WTC.
I'm not talking about transferring between trains. I'm talking about people going from WTC to Exchange Place. The two lines may share the same tunnel, but I'm quite sure they leave from separate...
Are the two PATH lines that serve WTC going to share the same platform in the new station? Currently they do not, which is bad for people wanting to travel between WTC and Exchange Place in Jersey...
Of course they would. But there would be far less than there are now. If you look at countries that have heavily restricted or outright banned guns, they still do have some gun crime, but it's a...
There are a number of factors that makes the US more violent, but it is the availability of guns that results in that violence resulting in death at much higher rates.
People can point to other...
Did anybody say John McCain on CNN say that there's no proof that gun control works, and cite the massacre in Norway earlier this year as an example?

I wonder what will happen with the retail space now that the speculated inclusion of Nordstrom has proven false. There's supposed to be close to 100k square feet.
They need to attract businesses that will get people from beyond walking distance. Get a Shake Shack there, and a frozen yogurt place next door. Something along those lines.
In particular the lawns on the north side of Houston Street should have people playing catch with their kids, throwing frisbees around, and sunbathing on a nice day.
Green space is useless if it has fences surrounding it to keep people out, as much of the green space there currently does. If they would remove all the fences at least it would serve a purpose.

This is much better than putting the store in One57. It would have been tiny in that building, MAYBE 100k square feet.
Well then display it separately. When people picture the space shuttle they don't picture that stupid looking cone on the back of it. This is what they picture:

Absolutely. The back end of the space shuttles has always been my favorite part.
Yeah. If they were going to put up a moat, don't go half-assed. Fill it with water and crocodiles, and force all visitors to swim through it to pass. Could have been quite the attraction.
