^^ Just amazes me that a few billion dollars hasn't been made available to complete or redo the tunnel subway line in all these decades.....its only around 1 mile :(........... amazing.
...
Whoever did that landscape architecture for that area under and around the subway bridge did an amazing job....
Not being in NY....define sterile....I think I know what you mean, as the architecture has no sorta historical look to it, just glass facades?..........but define how the waterfront contrasts from...
I completely agree......looks awesome.....
They have a green roof on the longest flat section???
So are they going to add trains with bridge construction or no if approved??
*zooms in on Bayonne Bridge on Google Earths, notices walking path next to the roadway*
Wells that's great.......so it can be assumed they'll definitely have a pedestrian/bike...
Yeah....just seeing all these partitioning of neighborhoods with these made up names is getting a little crappy....just so developers and newspapers can act like they "discovered" a new section of...
I just read an article that the Feds are reviewing the Port Authority's plan for the Bayonne Bridge which they say are ready to begin within a few months or so of approval??
So question is??? In...
Wow. The northeast corridor is really trying to make transportations sans automobiles more convenient and efficient. This along with the one about the Poconos rail line are good projects.
Sounds like a great plan. Can't they siphon off the gas and use it as energy. They do that at some landfills, collecting the gas and getting it out of there.
Maybe one day they can get a train stop at the park when Staten Island gets the Westside of the Island connected via train.
At 3.5 miles long and connecting to the two largest cities in New Jersey, it would be awesome if they replaced BUT not demolished this bridge. Kept it as bicycle/pedestrian path. How many joggers...
I was visiting Fort Greene and Dowtown Brooklyn last summer. Its a good looking building. I don't think its to out of place, but I don't live there either....so.

I guess I'm asking, cause I don't mind parking decks, but if they can be...
I concur.
Can they make that tunnel capable of upgrading to Maglev technology when the time comes. Would be good for future rail technology.
Two things.
1) When you have a federal government that believes in vast tax cuts, but then spends the remaining money on huge military expenditures that make a few companies rich, its definitely...
About Robert Moses. My understanding is that he hated mass transit, particularly the subways. Which is partly why the Verazzano bridge was not accessible for the subway line, much less pedestrians....
Wow, could you get anymore more back handedly racist than that.
Good for Jersey City, hope those people are compensated real nice if eminent domain kicks in. But its looks like a real good plan. I especially like the idea of putting parking garages under nearly...
NASCAR still uses leaded gasoline. Damn.
I think it would better used as greenspace, if not then at least build parking decks instead of one big sprawly parking lot? Lets see if NASCAR officials...
great
As someone not from the Tri-State area or Northeast for that matter, I have a question??? Somebody explain this to me. I've been to New York City and have been on the subway which of course is very...
