I must say that atrium is quite stunning. The renderings don't do it justice.
It probably will have a huge blank wall if the tower is too thin because it would need a structural wall for support.
Didn't Penn Station also include the block to the north where 1 Penn stands now?
They could never have parrallel runways. If the crosswinds were too strong on a certain day all flights would have to be grounded.
I love Zeytuna, but I think the building name address is 59 Maiden Lane or the Home Insurance Plaza building. It is pretty ugly.
Well it seems only one of those buildings in the Rockrose plan was actually built according to the master plan design. Not sure if that is a blessing or a curse really though.
Nice finds. I wonder where the second one is located at? The first one seems to be about a block north of Queens Plaza.
The first one is the new rental not the hotel I believe.
I know this is off-topic since this thread is about Barlay's, but I am shocked at the amount of room the renovation of MSG has found. What where they doing with all that space?
^^That's actually a pretty nice looking building IMHO
Street grates aren't illegal, it's just that new subway construction is so deep, that subway grates wouldn't help circulate the air in the tunnels.
On my way home today on the 7 train, I noticed that foundations were going in where a long proporsed Scarano (sp) tower was suppose to be built. I think the address was 45-46 Pearson Street, however...
You can see it poking out of the skyline in Queens from Gantry State Park
They opened the northern most part of the park to the public I am assuming at some point this week. Unfortunately for me my internet issues proclude me from posting my pictures.
I will say as to...
The building looks great from that angle in the picture that Derek posted.
Looks like this has finally topped out

Man Bloomberg is a mess. He thinks a giant mall will make this area vibrant? Has he even seen how disconnected this area is from the rest of Queens?
The decision to move the residential portion...
The development on the water is sterile for a few reasons, but the biggest being is the enormous size of each buildings base. In Manhattan, unless it was an office tower, at least 2-4 residential...
Wow that thing is massive. How tall is that building going to be?
That is hideous. This city really needs to regulate the architectural merit of new buildings, or else we will be a city full of crappy high rises with giant blank walls.
That last picture is sort of hypnotizing with all those vertical lines.
It's amazing how far you can see this building. This is from the 7 platform on 52nd Street

Well to be fair there would be no way this tower could have the same amount of stores as what was there originally, I mean it has to have a lobby.
I like the little indoor space they have but I...
I am scratching my head over this one. I would have imagined that one of these buildings are landmarked, particularly the one that faces GCT on Vanderbilt.
