Even if it turned out like the "attractive" barricades by the stock exchange it would still be ugly as all hell. Not to mention the 10+ cops and private security officers watching your every step.

Good lord at least try to hide all of those shacks somewhere. Can't they have a centralized office so the cops don't have ugly guard booths every 10 feet on the site?
Did the structure on the original WTC actually broadcast signals, or was it also just a structure with antennas bolted on? Serious question since I don't know a whole lot about antennas.

I'm sure it will be as welcoming as the security area near Wall Street.
Absolute insanity. That's all I can say.
Heh. I wonder if we'd be giving the PA too much credit by saying they actually did take that into consideration.
It could be worse - it could be a clone of Fiterman Hall.
What the hell is with the insanely long foundation hallway? That is all a facsimile, isn't it? I can only assume that the long ass winding hallway is actually for security purposes as well as a...
Nice. They fixed that up as well.
I could stomach a redesign if it ended up being something like the behemoths going up in Midtown (not 432 Park - the others), but if it turned into a stub or a boring box I'd cry for months.
Ah...
You're killing me.
Great as always, tectonic. The top of the "spire" is going to look awkward since it represents the original design.
Ping An is on hold and might not get built now that it has been discovered that a bunch of Shenzen projects have used sea sand in their concrete.
EDIT: Now I am reading that the "tests" of the...
Credit is given where credit is due. I wonder if they also touched up the damaged wing? The previous patch job was just some paint.
Great. They were probably my last option. My first was Montparnasse 56 USA simply because they did a fantastic job in Chicago. Oh well.
As an outsider, I'll say it is the place to be in the US. Chicago is a close second for me, but nothing beats NYC. Just wish it wasn't so expensive. Hah.
Nah, more like this.

Yeah, sorry. I was a bit terse with my initial post. Thanks for being civil about it!
The concrete platform on the West Street side of 1 WTC? Do you mean the little plaza area that they redesigned?
The economy isn't bad? I think you may be living in a bubble.
And when did the Dow become an indicator of anything meaningful?
An absolutely fantastic building.
Very good point. I always forget about that modernization even though John Hancock Center is one of my favorite skyscrapers.
I could maybe stand this base cladding if it stopped at the lobby, but the problem is that it is going to extend all the way up and cover the mechanical floors. It's going to look so silly.
Tower...
Quote what as my own opinion? My opinion is that the new base is garbage, I thought that much was clear.
And does it matter that the antenna "would not have bothered me" if I had not known about...
