Thread: High Line Area Development

The media does all sorts of things. For example, America's most famous real estate developer is a self-declared fascist and anything he says about anything is breaking news. I'm sick of it.

P.S.: I wonder why the media gives that putz so much publicity.

Surprisingly, an article in today's Real Deal ripped Schmo a new one and suggested that his High-Line project is poised to fail.

THis is looking very, very good so far. THe use of red brick is always a fantastic choice for a buildings' facade: even if it is this prefabricated panel type of brick.

But this just proves that pre-fab doesn't have to be cheap and boring.

I think we can expect the quality and price-quality ratio of pre-fab panels to only improve. I like the I-beam details. They visually connect the building to the High Line.

the buildings' facade has to look flawless when attempting to completely 'conceal' the seams between the prefab panels.

The other way, as in this case, is to incorporates the seams as a 'decorative' feature where the seam is deliberatly exaggerated so as to become a "reveal" feature of the facade.

The architectural detailing on this facade was artfully done; and the builder followed up with quality crafted execution: too often either one, or the other, gets screwed up - they got 'both' right in this case.

That looks excellent. Is it the same color all the way to the top or is it going to alternate red-orange-purple Kaufman-style?

I don't think RAMS does "color."
