There is another one out of Chelsea Piers with dome glass top that gives you unblocked view...Food and ambiance are also much better than the Spirit Cruise..

Bateaux New York Dinner Cruise...Give it a shot , you won't be sorry..

Haven't tried it, and probably won't, but the boat looks good (Bateau-Mouche, Paris?), the views are reliably dynamite, and the food is likely to be like hotel or banquet food; that menu looks like what you might find at any ol' country club.

I thought World Yacht over by 42nd Street did some high end, dress yourself up, kind of cruises. They also do great Rock and Roll Cruises - $20 a person to see excellent local bands.

The dinner cruises aren't the best. If you're looking for a view, try here:

Expensive and a little snooty. Supercilious waiters if you can't project wealth.

But pretty good food and very nice setting with a great view.

Even just dessert and a drink is very pricey, and you don't get to do that during the dinner hours.

High-class mobster chic.

Recommended if you can live with the caveats.

Unfortunately that ^^ is very true ...

How much money do you want to spend?

Nothing can ruin a romantic evening more than getting a bill that you're totally unprepared for.

A three-course meal at the River Cafe is about $80-90 a plate, before wine.
