Sorry, I do not mean to tease, but I saw 19 views of this thread with noone saying "yeah, I know someone who might be interested" or just plain "Hi!".
So, although I already have a place, I wish you two good luck, and welcome to NYC!
Hi!
My name is Amy and I'm currently living in Orlando, Florida and looking to get out of this place!!! I plan on moving in with my friend Simon from Seattle, Washington and we both plan on attending school in the city. We are easy to get along with and outgoing. And looking for the same. I cook and clean and will hopefully have a job waiting for me when I move up there. If you have any questions let me know. We plan on getting to know our future roomate before our big move.

Amy, I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a roomate - you're actually in a great position because you get to chose them! A friend of mine interviewed 20 people and found a great roomate that has become a good friend. You might consider getting a place and then a roomate (if you're not too worried about money) because I think it would be much easier for you to get a roomate when you have a place for them to look at and can meet them face to face.
Good luck.
Which school are you planning to attend? Depending on where it is located, you may or may not need a roommate. It will also give potential roommates an idea of the kind of apartment you will likely be able to afford.
Finding a 3-bedroom would be a lot more difficult than finding a 2-bedroom.
pics of you?
I am already moving with a roomate.![]()
Now all we need is someone who may know someone that has an apartment available or even a small area on the side of the kitchen floor available!!!![]()
We plan on attending M.U.D. in Soho.
1: right click on the pic and highlight "properties"
2: highlight and copy address (URL).
3: click on "insert image" and right click and paste the URL of your image in the box and click "OK" and bam! You have your pic! Here is a sample from Wikipedia, the Great Falls of the Passaic here in Paterson. Not too far from my house.![]()

Wait, so you are sharing one bedroom with your friend and want a single roommate for a second bedroom?
You might not want to show photos of yourself to any random person who wants to see them. And you should certainly be wary of any roommate who demands to see pictures of you. Be smart here.
Shes cute. She has more pics on there.
I wish I could help.
Keep in mind that Manhattan is expensive. The places that aren't are...iffy at best. Queens can be a hell of a commute depending on where you are. Decent places in the Bronx are a good commute to the city.
I am biased against Brooklyn and Staten Island so i will hold my tongue.
Brooklyn is cool. But expensive as heck in some areas. Staten Island sucks. Sorry people from SI, but you're NYC's bastard childQueens can be hell because it is the largest of the boroughs in size. So some parts of the borough could be close to Manhattan, (like LIC) while others could be more than 10 miles away, and is a pain in the ass to get to the city. (like the Rockaways for example) but over all Queens is cool. Also, Jersey isn't bad. I'm sure JCMan can tell you about Jersey City. It's right across the Hudson from Manhattan, and a short subway ride away. Also, I'm sure some members live in Hoboken, but that city is expensive too. You'll pay Manhattan prices for an apartment there. Hope that helps!
