I've only seen one early rendering with a sloped roof. Otherwise it's this:

    What a POS.

Can all those blue faces now exhale?

    This tower is extremely bland.

The developer will be hard pressed to sell these units -- let alone at the $2,000+/sf that he sought. What a disappointing POS.

The cheap, greedy putzes who build things in NY should look to Europe to see how real architecture is designed -- not that guys like Ross, Zuckerman, Silverstein, Chang, et al care about anything but their profits.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I like this one. I'm glad we didn't get another all-glass box.

It came out better than the renderings. The façade is clean and appears to be made of quality materials.

I also think the all-white look provides a needed contrast to the hulking, all-black 1166 Ave of Americas.

Instead of the flat-roofed POS, the "developer" should have built this as a reflection of what he is:

It's by Ricardo Bofill who is very respected.

Here it is from another angle.

It's dramatically better than the value-engineerd mierda that's constructed in NYC 99.9% of the time.

This thing looks like Norten cribbed off of Jardine House in Hong Kong.

^ I thought of that one, too. Yes that could be where he got his inspiration from. Not too bad of place to start from considering it's a HK landmark.

The Westin gets all the vitriol, but I think that ^ thing is the real hunk o' junk.

I agree. I think that's the case because the Westin stands out whereas the Hilton (the photo I posted above) is so garbage and invisible that no one even cares enough to talk about it but it is the real villian as far as the new Times Square is concern.

With the new 11 TS just to the west the TS Hilton is totally eclipsed.
