I wonder if the building on the corner of 45th and 6th (and the one just south of it) sold their air rights for this project. I hope so because they're nice old structures, and I would hate to ever see them razed.

Glad to see this one rising. I noticed from the rendering that the set-back on this new building is going to expose a lot of the old brickwork on the two adjoining buildings. I like the graphic that they chose to be applied to those side walls, and they will help to visually blend those 'nice older structures' with the new tower.

It's cleared the roof its neighbor(s)

Now we get to see how the west side will be constructed.

Above the setback, the facade appears to slant slightly away from the street.

What is the final height of this project going to be?

new signage is up calling this building the cassa and advertising it as world class condos with hotel amenities. it gives cassany.com as the building's website, but that doesn't seem to be up yet.

This one is making steady progress. They changed the website address on the signs to www.cassanyc.com. For now, the website is just a placeholder. Apparently the hydraulics for the crane malfunctioned today and fluid leaked out ont 45th street. The block was closed off this afternoon and a city truck was spreading sawdust or something on the street.

Yeah it looks like a slab (of concrete material?) with small windows. It is not looking too good.
