I'm only guessing but I think a lot of these cheesy lower facades will be upgraded in 20 years or so.

Didn't turn out good at all. It's far uglier and cheaper looking in person. I walked by there a couple of weeks ago and was amazed by how bad it is. It's a total hulk with bad proportions and awkward massing.

It sucks. Let's see if they build the nice tower that was proposed or if they go the cheap route on that too.

Wow, lame. It's like a classier redux of the Zebra Building on 42nd Street, offensive in its own way.

I think this tower has financing in place, but it may be redesigned

btw what's planned for the northwest corner of Lexington and 55th street?

No idea but the parvels def. looks ripe for redevelopment.

The northeast & northwest corners of E56th & Lex also seem underdeveloped for the area.

Thanks for the inside info, Irish. Are they keeping the same design? If so, 57th Street will have some real gems.

When is the Whole Foods opening? And is there any word on takers for all the other retail space? I think there's like 80,000 more square feet of retail scheduled IIRC.

Sorry for asking a dumb question, but this is a newly constructed building? Yikes.
