2006 SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP ROLLER DERBY BOUT
MANHATTAN VS. QUEENS - SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18 GGRD presents the long awaited 2006 Championships on November 18, 2006 between the Manhattan Mayhem and the Queens of Pain (last year’s champions). This pairing is a repeat of last year’s Championship and both teams have everything to lose. For this showdown, New York’s only all-girl Roller Derby league is back on neutral ground at the Schwartz Center at the Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University for this night of déjà vu derby. Can Queens defend their title from the badass ladies on the cellblock? Can Gotham’s favorite inmates upset the reigning champions and take the trophy home? There's plenty of history here so fans better get their tickets now - they won't last long! All GGRD games have sold out and this one promises to be no exception. GGRD 2006 SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT SATURDAY, November 18th, 2006 LIU-Brooklyn Schwartz Athletic Center 1 University Plaza (corner Flatbush and DeKalb Aves) Doors: 7:30pm Whistle: 8:30pm General Admission: $15.00 advance, $17 at the door VIP: $30 advance only - includes track-side seating plus a special gift back full of goodies (including handmade items by GGRD skaters themselves!) All advance tickets are available online through the GGRD website at http://www.gothamgirlsrollerderby.co...p?item=tickets or through www.brownpapertickets.com Directions: Take the B/M/Q/R @ DeKalb Ave or 2/3/4/5 to Nevins St. or A/C/G to Hoyt-Schermerhorn. Use the DeKalb Ave. entrance (off Flatbush Ave.) This year has been very rocky for GGRD – the league still lacks a permanent venue for games and practices since their previous home closed in March of this year. They are actively searching for a new place to crash and investors, sponsors and investors to make their dream of a new home come true. Interested parties should contact sponsorship@gothamgirlsrollerderby.com to help keep New York Roller Derby alive and smashing! |

If you were slow, then you blow--they're sold out. Unless you can score an extra at the door on bout night, forget about it.

Shame I wasn't in NY for this event - it looked fun! Is there anything on in the next couple of weeks?
FYI, they're starting up a branch of the Rollergirls in London - I went along to their Halloween party which was great fun. ![]() http://www.urban75.org/london/rollergirls.html |
