    3. along with L.A., the world's greatest media centers;

    4. the world's greatest auction centers (Christies' and Sotheby's art and antique sales focus on NY and London).

    5. The U.N. gives NY a unique role in international affairs.

    Lastly, NY's geography has established it, over the course of 400 years, as the Americas' gateway to the world.

    Chicago, like other nice second-tier cities (e.g., Frankfurt, HK, Toronto, etc), will never rise to the level of NY regardless of what it builds.
    If you are into architecture and skyscrapers, then financial centers, media centers, international centers, etc. don't do squat if they don't help to build. Meanwhile, if NYC and London are so much better then everyone else, then it makes it's more dissappointing that they aint buildin up to their full potential. London has historically been a low lying city, but NYC has historically been the skyscraper capital of the world and the US. However, Chicago is making big strides these days, and hence this thread is to share information about the two skyscraper leaders of the US.

    Get your little (or big?) ass off the island and come and visit me in Asia. I'll show you a real 24 hour city. No ID required.

    ORRRRR...you can continue to live on an island of self-segregated delusion.......

    seriously, name your destination, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong...

    All of them are denser, more vibrant, and more 24-hour oriented than either NY or Chicago.

    You all crack me up. Because I chose to add the pronoun boy to Chi...you actually think I am under age?? I am flattered.

    Again, you all need to get off more often.....the island that is.

    I knew from post #1 that you're in Seoul. Just needed a reason to remove a troll from the forum.

    If you're really an adult, well, that's pathetic.

    This thread will be closed until it's cleaned up.
