They did it, they managed to pour two floors in a single work week.

This building has a tight footprint. They're able to pour AND frame the next floor all in 1 day. Then they get a day for rebar and are already starting to pour the next day. This site has been crazy, and it looks like they'll have a crane soon too.

The speed here is crazy, especially given how long it's taken 56 Leonard to get moving just a few blocks to the north. Topped-out by year's end? I think so...

There were several extenuating circumstances at Leonard. And 99 Church is not in the same league in terms of complexity and site access.

I know, but the contrast is still interesting. Obviously 56 Leonard is in a league of its own, and the contractor issues were crazy... plus they had to get a new crane.

I didn't realize that there would be another building on the east side of the plaza. You can see a glimpse of it on the website rendering. I guess this will contain a ramp to the basement.

nice that those ugly HVAC boxes will be blocked.

Makes sense waiting to put up the tower crane until the set back is complete. Rather than building around the tower. This should really pick up the pace.

It's narrower than I thought. At 900+ft it's going to look very tall.

Construction Porn at 30 Park Place

Did you see last weekend’s crane installation at 30 Park Place (a.k.a. the Four Seasons Downtown Etc. Etc.)? It was something else—and that building is going up fast. Best of all these photos came in from an observer who would like to remain anonymous. You can hate the noise that comes with construction, and you can have grave concerns about the overbuilding of downtown, but you have to admire the guts of the folks who actually make these buildings happen.

Click on each (and especially the last one!) for the full impact.
