After years of only seeing it on TV, a few years back I went to a Bears game at Soldier Field in Chicago, a magnificent Beaux Art temple on Lack Michigan that was defaced about a decade ago with a modern stadium on top, but maintained its original, classic colonnade. During an intermission in the game, I went over to examine the columns, which I had always assumed to be marble. Concrete.

Penn Station wasn't all marble and granite.

    The interior was mostly plaster.

Absolutely stunning view of 30 Park now that they've readjusted the earthcam, as well as 56 Leonard and uptown.

They have started putting a matching curtain wall on the new annex across the plaza to be.

I hope some nice lighting is placed on the available terraces to light this baby up at night.

And a great view of 432 Park, at least until this baby climbs a few more floors.
